Domiciled in our Pittsburgh, PA campus, the candidate will lead an application development team responsible for advancing our FedEx Ground Business Analytics strategy.
Provides the leadership, direction, and execution of our Business Intelligence strategy in support of the company’s objectives.
Oversee development of analytics methodologies to identify and target high yield initiatives throughout the organization.
Lead Business Intelligence maturity initiatives, including the use of dashboards and advanced analytic functions (i.e. machine learning).
Oversee product administration functions of the analytics ecosystem (i.e. Tibco Spotfire, Business Objects, SAS, and AbInitio).
Develop and evolve our Business Analytics roadmap and deliver new business capabilities iteratively leveraging Agile/Lean software development principles.
Develop and present advanced analytics business cases and technical solutions to executive management
Educate team members on emerging industry trends, technology and IT best practices
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Considered a Plus
Experience in a quantitative role.
Prior experience with Business Intelligence toolsets including Business Objects, SAS, and Spotfire
Exposure and thorough understanding of various analytics ecosystems including Oracle and Hadoop.
Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle leveraging Agile development best practices
Exposure to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferred
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understood business terms
Proven leadership and collaboration skills

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or directly related quantitative Degree or related field. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Five (5) years systems development experience which includes programming. Skill in one or more programming languages. If position is in mainframe environment, complex systems experience on IBM operating systems or microprocessors required. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. IMS experience. If position is in client/server environment, systems development experience to include distributed systems is required. Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development or case tools. Experience in the technical design and development of major client/server projects. Knowledge of software and engineering principles. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills. Travel required.
