The Business Data Analyst Associate utilizes multiple quantitative and qualitative datasets from a variety of sources and interprets results using various techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. Assists in the design, development and implementation of business solutions partnering with clients to identify analytical requirements. Compiles reports, charts, and tables based on established statistical methods. Partners with colleagues to understand data needs, and create and manage repeatable daily, weekly, and monthly reports to support the Direct Appeals and Annual Giving teams in reporting and data-driven decision making. Track, analyze, and report on appeals/activity generated by Annual Giving. Based on Annual Giving metrics, create and manage a suite of reports in the Business Intelligence and Tableau platforms that help teams understand how donor segments are performing relative to previous years and current goals. Assist with data validation and cleaning for appeal projects. Participate in large-scale data enhancement initiatives. Manage the annual benchmarking process with Target Analytics and attend Target Analytics’ data briefings. Utilize iModules and other tools to report on donor trends across channels. Provide ad hoc information retrieval using a variety of system tools in order to better understand macro and micro trends among alumni and donor cohorts.
Partners with clients to define requirements based on business objectives.
Develop standardized templates, policies, and procedures for internal and external reporting.
Designs and prepares documentation for qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Completes a variety of statistical analyses using appropriate data and software
Merges data from multiple sources in preparation for analysis.
Interprets results of analyses for use in reports and presentations
Completes data cleaning and organizes data files for analysis.
Reviews data and Identifies quality issues
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Infrastructure (extends across applications): Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook), Skype.
