The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of projects and initiatives related to the development, implementation, and assessment of Lesley University's strategic planning efforts. The project manager will coordinate all aspects of specific strategic planning projects, both university-wide and school specific. This includes supporting the development and tracking of project plans; meeting scheduling and logistics; detailed note taking during meetings; tracking and monitoring action items; and developing, tracking and reporting on key project metrics. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategy and Implementation, the Project Manager is part of the strategic planning team and serves as a member of a team of data stewards that will support strategic planning efforts. This position works collaboratively with individuals and units across the university.
Schedules, plans, and coordinates projects across all phases of strategic planning (development, implementation, assessment)
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of concurrent large and small scale projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames
Facilitates project-related meetings as appropriate (for schools, departments, cross-university projects; planning meetings, retreats, focus groups, etc.), including regularly scheduled as well as ad hoc project status meetings, and serves as an active, prepared participant.
Collaborates with Business Intelligence Analyst to develop effective means for communicating data visually and prepares presentations and reports that communicate complex data clearly and efficiently to users
Creates reports and communicates findings and trends to management for decision making
Prepares presentation and reports in support of full range of strategic planning efforts, as requested
Gathers data from a variety of sources, both internal and external; synthesizes and analyzes data to contextualize, make meaning, and inform planning and decision-making
Follows a defined, agreed upon project management methodology to track and report on key project metrics
Works collaboratively to outline work plans, identify resource requirements, identify and anticipate issues and resolve problems
Documents processes by maintaining project-related records and artifacts
Presents oral and written reports describing project milestones
Ensures all aspects of a given project run smoothly
Serves as a member of a team of data stewards that will respond to requests for data and analysis to support strategic planning efforts
Participates in special projects as assigned
Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Demonstrated track record of organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, accommodate shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated success in preparing and facilitating the use of data and analysis to inform planning on multiple levels.
Ability to work collaboratively and/or independently toward project completion.
Experience communicating with all levels within a complex organization and with technical and non-technical users, and a proven record of exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, familiarity with business intelligence tools, databases, and data visualization/presentation tools.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
Experience working in higher education.
Project Management Professional credential via a Project Management Institute program preferred.
Salary Grade 26: $60,170 - $71,602
