Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Cloud Business Intelligence and Report Developer for the Office of Information Technology. This position is under the direction of the Data Architect and provides development and support for the Business Intelligence infrastructure including data warehouses, data marts, data models, views, and reports.
The Cloud Business Intelligence and Report Developer is responsible for analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance in support of University central and departmental standardized reports as well as integration with both internal and external data partners. With minimal supervision, this position develops and enhances minor to complex reports and integrations. This position is also be involved with Oracle Cloud upgrades and new releases as well as other applications, as needed, to assist in impact analysis and redesign of infrastructure and reports, as needed.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs analysis and develops a detailed design of new and existing system requests. Writes new code and/or maintains existing code for reports, data models, views, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
Works with the functional leads and business owners, this position will design and develop DB views and models in support of efficient and accurate reporting.
Develops reports and queries utilizing BI Publisher, OTBI, Tableau and OBIEE.
Prepares tests that will verify that the unit program is working, but more importantly, also show through integration and/or system testing that the new or revised programs/processes and/or reports do not adversely impact the operational integrity of the entire application system; ability to manage diverse activities in a highly visible and pressured environment
Consults with Data Architect, Project Managers, technical team members and user departments staff as required to gather and clarify requirements for proposed development projects and system enhancements and maintenance.
Identifies and suggests business and systems solutions to problems.
Trouble shoots problems, works with staff to resolve problems, works closely with users to understand and resolve open issues, logs SRs (service requests) with Oracle and works with Oracle support staff to resolve open issues.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology field or a Bachelor's degree in a Business major with relevant experience in system design, development
Five years in an analytical and programming environment with emphasis on financial and human resources applications, business areas and analytics, Oracle Cloud ERP, systems design, data modeling
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with reporting tools Tableau, OTBI, BI Publisher
Experience with data modeling for reporting
Should be knowledgeable in reporting tools, decision support systems, data modeling, data design and ETL processing, preferably experienced in Oracle Cloud ERP and/or Oracle HCM
Ability to understand complex, integrated state of the art business intelligence and report data modeling
Ability to understand complex user authentication and data access authorization security models
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and the ability to foster working relationships with users and peers
Excellent analytical and research skills
Oracle Cloud ERP experience, Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), JAVA programming, File Based Data Import skills, Web Service, and/or PaaS
Data Warehouse modeling/development, relational database management, ETL and tools such as OWB and ODI
Experience with Essbase cubes
Experience with OBIEE
In addition OTBI, BI Publisher, Tableau, OBIEE and Discoverer, Oracle Warehouse Builder and ETL processes
