The University of Iowa is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Architect with proven experience providing BI solutions as well as experience with data modeling, data mart, and Data Warehouse (DW) architecture. This individual will have an immediate impact on enhancing our campus operational and strategic data-informed decision-making. As a BI Architect, you will work in a team environment to design, develop, and deliver enterprise business intelligence and analytic solutions.
Specific roles and responsibilities cover the full Business Intelligence development life cycle, including business analysis to solicit end-user requirements, data modeling gap analysis and resolution, solution implementation, testing, and user training. The BI Architect will work with current data sources and extend the BI data infrastructure by developing data marts or tabular solutions. BI Solution development will encompass reporting, operational and strategic dashboards, and analytics. This position will have solution ownership, including providing maintenance, incident management, enhancements and end-user support for BI solutions.

Specific Job Duties:
Participate in the BI project planning process to establish business requirements, define deliverables, conduct data analysis, and establish timelines;
Manage BI solutions throughout the project lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, operational support);
Collaborate with key functional stakeholders to better understand their business domain, processes, and data;
Develop visually informative dashboards and customized reports based on business requirements;
Work with data providers to architect, build, test, and maintain BI data infrastructure;
Design and implement ETL processes to create data pipelines and aggregate data from multiple sources;
Research new technologies and industry trends, and determine applicability to our campus environment;
Provide guidance and mentoring for the campus BI Community.
