As a member of the Supply Chain team and reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Director leads a team of people who manage forward and reverse supply chain functions for Johnstone’s six regional distribution centers that serve our store locations. The Director is responsible for consistently driving best practices and continuous improvement in the areas of forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, supplier performance management, purchasing, capacity planning, supply management and sales & operations planning.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in an engineering, technical, supply chain or related field.
Ten years of experience in areas such as purchasing, supplier management, continuous improvement, demand planning, operations planning, warehousing, merchandising, analytics, or inventory management with at least five of those years in leadership positions leading a team in supply chain operations
MBA or advanced supply chain degree or education (APICS CSCP or equivalent) preferred.
Ability to learn and use ERP, demand planning, and analytics software applications as it relates to all demand planning, inventory management and reporting functions. Experience with Logility software is a plus.
Experience and knowledge of product storage and distribution best practices across multiple tiers of a supply chain to create agile and flexible supply chain by looking at inventory across multiple levels.
Skill in developing effective working relationships with individuals from different functions, levels and organizations.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated experience using business intelligence and analytics tools to analyze large data sets and distill meaningful information and present recommendations based on objective and thorough data analysis.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills: define problem, identify root causes, define corrective actions and drive for improvements. Experience or knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, others).
Knowledge and demonstrated experience applying human resource management principles in hiring, training and orienting, goal setting, evaluating, coaching employees and driving for consistent high level of engagement and performance.
