We are currently seeking a talented and creative person to join our team as Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics.
This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing, PR, and Communication and will develop, recommend, and execute unified database design, and strategies that support the association’s strategic goals and initiatives. This individual must be hands-on with a strong hybrid of heavy technical who can work with the business and take a vision, create the strategy, build teams and follow through with the execution.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Design, build, and manage the database structure and integration architecture for all channels pertaining to SEMA, SDC, PRI, SAN, Show, Membership, Marketing, and Garage activities.
Write, evaluate, deploy, and monitor implementation and enforcement of data policies, practices, business rules, and procedures to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness across all stakeholder groups that manage and access data.
Identify and acquire new sources of information to augment existing data in support of SEMA, SDC, PRI, SAN, Show, Membership, Marketing, Garage objectives.
Create and maintain databases necessary to support association campaigns.
Design process to continually monitor and cleanse data (Dedupe & Update) for efficiency and consistency across all database platforms.
Increase awareness and more effectively target segment data from various SEMA, SDC, PRI, SAN, Show, Membership, Marketing, Garage efforts, databases and other external sources to grow member engagement and activation.
Mine data for presentation to EMT level executives to be used for research, business planning, and overall understanding of data universe as managed by the association.
Perform ad-hoc data queries and analysis as requested to support association interests.
Design, create and maintain analytics dashboard internally (or use external third party dashboard) to track campaign progress.
Manage a team of data specialists for optimum performance and efficiency for SEMA Association programs and activities.
Work with SEMA IT to identify appropriate systems requirements and procure computer hardware for efficient operation of database integration
Reports to Vice President of Marketing, PR, and Communications.
Manages an internal staff consisting of Data Analytics Specialists, Data Processing Analysts, Digital Marketing, and related data specialists.
Coordinates data systems integrations with SEMA IT.
When appropriate, interfaces with outside vendors and/or agencies relevant to database operations.
Interfaces with Marketing, Show, Membership, SDC, SAN, Garage, PAPI, PR, Administration, PRI and Association staff.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
A Bachelor’s degree in a business, economics, statistics, database design or computer science-related field.
Ten or more years’ experience in providing enterprise client data services and business analytics.
A minimum least 3-5 years delivering or supporting a Digital Media business.
Experienced with SQL, SAS, HTML, Excel, customer contact strategies, database design, predictive modeling, data mining, web analytics, Drupal, and other common database marketing techniques, including DMPs.
Experienced with html email and email service providers.
Experienced with CRM systems, such as NetForum.
Experience with Google analytic platforms.
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills, perform strategic planning and conduct project management.
Experience in developing and executing direct or database marketing campaigns focused on lead/sales generation.
Knowledge of analytical methodologies for optimizing and evaluating marketing campaigns.
Experienced with reporting software.
Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views. Gives and welcomes feedback
Strong ability to interface with all levels of the organization
Organizational skills and detailed-oriented approach to work.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
