The IU Lifelong Learning Program is responsible for planning, developing and executing personal enrichment experiences for adults in our local and regional area and also for developing the annual Mini University program, a one-week adult learning vacation open to IU alumni and friends that is held each summer on the IUB campus.
The Operations Manager will serve as a strategic planning specialist and holds a primary role in the development and management of multiple areas within the team; including systematization of business practices and operations, training, marketing, and technology integration. This position will be responsible for recommending and developing innovative solutions that will include business process changes as well as advanced reports, business intelligence, analytics, and data visualizations to meet the needs of Lifelong Learning Development and other significant IUAA initiatives. Understands and implements the Director’s goals and the mission of the IU Alumni Association.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and two years of professional level experience that includes developing, implementing, and coordinating programs and events; cultivation of volunteers; and budget administration.
A combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Must possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Bookkeeping experience and/or experience organizing and tracking financial records. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including ability to work independently and in a team environment. Diplomacy, discretion, and presentation skills. Capable of working with diverse populations. Experience with web-based database systems (such as CRM Solutions or Constant Contact). Ability to contribute to or lead strategic planning and development are essential. Excellent critical thinking, problem solving skills, planning, and organizational skills are also necessary for success. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-stress, fast paced environment with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities while being able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously, with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with registration software for non-credit educational programs.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Must be able to work flexible schedule as program needs dictate, including some evening and weekend hours.
