The Associate Dean of Administration and Finance will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the College of Computer and Information Science. The College has multiple funding sources including an operating budget of approximately $66M (direct and indirect), 55+ million in active research grants, $9M in designated/restricted funds, and $5M in gifts. He/she will be a dedicated partner to the Dean and an integral part of the college's senior leadership team. The Associate Dean oversees a team of 20+ in the areas of financial management, personnel administration, grants administration, information technology, space and operations and also ensures the smooth operation of the college's front office. This position works closely with college deans, SVP's and program directors and provides leadership, expertise, and recommendations in the areas of human resources performance and change management, hybrid budget management, research administration, space/IT project management, and college operations.
The position is also responsible for leading growth at the graduate campuses which includes Charlotte, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Toronto and a few more campuses in the coming months. He/she must be able to prepare financial analyses for upper management using data from multiple sources and subject areas, prepare quarterly earnings reports including budget-to-actual performance, and develop cost structures and proposals with other colleges to create a long-range financial plan for all campuses. This position will also be responsible for leading the automation of all manual processes in the college and ensuring data across the college is reported accurately and consistently.
Qualified candidates will have a BS degree, MBA preferred, and 7-10 years budget experience in a higher education institution. Experience working at an RCM institution and knowledge of financial reporting in a decentralized business setting preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong management skills with at least 7- 10 years of supervisory experience across multiples subject areas. Strong knowledge of Banner, IBM Cognos Analytics or other Business Intelligence Software preferred. High level of analytical skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure is a must.
