Works both independently and as a member of the team, lead and participate in all aspects of analysis, design, and development of data structures, integration solutions, and related vended applications to support data integrations and integrity of the Indiana University Salesforce CRM platform. Coordinate identification and analysis of data sources and processes required for logical and physical modeling of data for the Salesforce cloud-based environment utilizing multiple data sources internal and external to the University. Define technical architecture, including tools and processes. Collaborate with the IU CRM team and other UITS Divisions and units in the planning process to establish business requirements, define deliverables and establish timelines. Responsible for collaborating, leading and ensuring the successful delivery of critical IU CRM platform data integration components.
Works as an effective leader on the team providing training, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced staff. Demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise through a variety of methods, including self-study, working/mentoring with colleagues, and both internal and external training. Identifies appropriate training, mentoring, guidance and resources necessary for the development of team member.
The job's work is in the area of multi-object relational data architecture and integration development for the Salesforce CRM Platform and related applications. Selection preference may be given to candidates with experience working with one or more applicable products from this vendor.
Provides assistance to technical partners by ensuring availability of appropriate resources, and when needed, assist developers in determining data design solutions.
Required Qualifications:Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Systems, or related discipline. At least two years of experience in the area of business intelligence, data warehouse, data architecture, data modeling, cube building and systems analysis. Substantial experience with Oracle databases, SQL tuning, and designing data structures for data warehousing, reporting and analytics, employing techniques such as dimensional data modeling, OLAP cubes, and tabular models.
Combinations of related education and relevant experience may be considered.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Demonstrated problem-solving and technical trouble-shooting skills combined with a strong work-ethic and the ability to learn. Demonstrated ability with Class Relational Database Management Systems and a working knowledge of any standard SDLC processes is required. Development with a high-level programming language (Apex, J2EE, .NET, PERL, etc.) is highly desirable. General knowledge of cloud based software as a service, storage systems, advanced virtualization, master data management, and ETL software is helpful. Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills are vital and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences is coveted.
The incumbent must be able to operate effectively in a complex and dynamic environment; capable of functioning on multi-disciplinary projects and participate as requested in ad-hoc committees; capable of working with all audiences; knowledge and practical experience with project management tools and application development methodologies.
