The Reporting Coordinator is the front-line representative for the Information Systems team in the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). The Coordinator answers questions from internal and external clients via a ticketing system and triages and escalates requests as needed. The Coordinator responds to ad-hoc data requests and assists with long-term reporting initiatives with mapping, testing, documentation and training. This position must be able to work independently to address client needs, audits report inventories, and proactively reinforce best practices in data governance.
The Coordinator assists OUR senior management in providing data, and documentation support on all student related business intelligence reporting and analytics to the functional units within the OUR. The Coordinator will work with clients to understand their technical needs. The incumbent must be able to translate clients’ requests into a technical solution while also presenting information to clients in a clear and concise manner.
This position interacts regularly with other units across the university.
The Reporting Coordinator reports directly to the Assistant Registrar for Student Information Systems and Analytics, and works closely with the Business Intelligence Analyst and Business Analyst
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or its equivalent
2-3 years of work experience in writing queries and preparing reports
Experienced Excel user and knowledge of writing queries using reporting software such as MicroStrategy, Informer, and/or Tableau
Must demonstrate an aptitude for database structure and develop expertise in the Ellucian Colleague Student module file structure and functionality, understanding core processes for student enrollment and other registrar business functions
Ability to participate in cooperative efforts to gather complex requirements from non-technical users and translate them into technical requirements
Ability to prioritize work with competing demands and communicate plans to various audiences
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a diverse and fast-moving office environment
Demonstrated ability to be a fast learner and a fast starter in a continuously evolving technological environment
Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service to a diverse customer base
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic, creativity, and initiative
Working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting academic institutions such as ADA, FERPA, HEA etc
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics
Experience with Colleague file structure, SQL queries and metrics a plus
Understanding of current reporting needs is a plus
Experience with writing technical administrative documentation and end-user guides is a plus
