Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Provide administrative support to the Department of Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership including but not limited to:
Department Chair Support
Provide support to Department Chair including: creation and review of memos for Chair's signature; manage calendar; serve as first point of contact and gatekeeper for Chair and Director of Strategic Initiatives and Leadership Development answering questions, troubleshooting, and making referrals as appropriate.
Departmental Support for Faculty and Students
Oversees student records, including registering students for classes as appropriate; review and preparation of paperwork for students; maintenance and review of program progress sheets; review and upkeep of various student listservs; and maintaining students files.
Responsible for course building and working with Dean's Office on course catalog.
Coordination and planning of meetings and special events, such as the Couper Lecture, Research Forums, Leadership Summit and others.
Creation and enforcement of travel policy including processing faculty travel arrangements and reimbursements.
Serves as liaison to all TLEL constituents providing excellent service, troubleshooting, and professional response in person and via email or phone.
Manages departmental purchasing and financial accounts in collaboration with Dean's Office.
Special Program Support
Assist Master Teacher Program, working with coordinator to track and reconcile expenses and revenue, secure rooms for events, process payments, vouchers, travel reimbursements, and expenditure transfers.
Oversee processing of Cooperating Teacher stipends
Serve as TLEL representative on CCPA event committees as necessary
Assistant Building Administrator
Distribute and track keys, process physical facilities work orders, and serve as backup Building Administrator for Academic B.
Bachelor's degree required
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite, including Excel
Prior administrative experience
Excellent computer, time management, organizational skills
Able to handle multiple demands and priorities
Experience with SUNY systems including Banner, BU Brain, Hyperion, SAS, Business Intelligence in a professional setting
Experience with financial processing and management
Experience with data/student management systems
