The University of Tennessee System Administration (UTSA) Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking applications for the position of IT Software Developer within the Business Intelligence (BI) team with a focus on data visualization. The BI team facilitates the use of information for improved decision making throughout the University system. An overview of the responsibilities and qualifications for the IT Software Developer position are listed below.
JOB SUMMARY: Leads technical design, modification, development, testing, and documentation of complex software solutions (purchased software, internally developed software, software modifications, and software interfaces) that execute independently or as part of a larger information system.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develops reports and data visualizations, specifically:
develop and manage interactive dashboards and reports combining student, faculty, and financial data.
develop and manage standard web-based reports from the University's Consolidated Data Repository (CDR) and other data systems (e.g., student, HR, research, financial, alumni/development, facilities, financial aid, outreach/engagement, IPEDS)
develop technical documentation and data definitions related to these reports and dashboards
Supporting teammates by contributing ideas and perspectives, utilizing project management techniques, being flexible to changes in plans, and respecting the value of others and their contributions.
Providing training and service to technical and non-technical staff.
Seeking to improve the quality, impact, and efficiency of technologies and processes that contribute to the use of information in decision making.
Working on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines and communicating issues.
Being trustworthy with confidential information and working to ensure information security.
Earning the trust and confidence of colleagues and constituents by exhibiting professional behavior.
