MSK is seeking an Health Informatics Specialist to join our Reporting and Analytics team. In this exciting, newly created role, the Advisory Data Specialist is responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of reporting solutions for the Reporting and Analytics department. This individual will frequently interact with senior leadership and clinicians to understand and analyze requirements and develop solutions using Business Intelligence and SQL Server tools and underlying technologies. The Advisory Data Specialist will exhibit leadership qualities and will be looked upon for guidance, recommendations and best practices.
Analyze data elements and relationships of systems
Develop appealing, interactive Tableau visualizations that answer key questions.
Design and optimization of dimensional data models to support reporting infrastructure
Identify project risks and impediments; notify management; proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope and timelines
Assist in the development of data governance processes which entails documentation and implementation of data quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure a high level of data integrity
Demonstrate good verbal and writing skills and creates clear, concise high level as well as detailed documentation of design decisions, data flows and issues
Implement database objects between all environments on assigned platforms
Ensure that the integrity, availability and performance of all databases on assigned platforms meet enterprise-wide business requirements
Contribute to database related project planning
Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
Able to work effectively in an environment notable for complex, sometimes contradictory information

7+ years experience in Information Systems
Experience in healthcare environment a plus
