MBA Admissions and Financial Aid seeks an Assistant Director to oversee Business Intelligence to support the HBS mission. Reporting to Operations Director MBA Admissions and Financial Aid, the Assistant Director will lead a range of special projects to improve departmental strategy and operations. In addition to business analytics skills, we seek someone with good judgment, strong communication and interpersonal skills to play a key role on a fun, high-performing team.
Build the analytics infrastructure across the work of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid team; work with data owners to ensure data is collected, organized and utilized effectively across various systems
Collaborate with AFA Operations team to enhance reporting infrastructure, business intelligence and self-serve data tools for Outreach, Evaluation, Yield and Financial Aid teams
Develop and maintain management dashboards
Query, assemble, clean and refine datasets in preparation for analysis
Support senior leaders on projects and strategic analyses related to Admissions, Financial Aid, and School priorities
Share findings to stakeholders in compelling written, visual and verbal communication
Ensure data security and develop and implement business processes involving data accuracy and confidentiality
Manage the interaction of database products from different vendors, ensuring accurate data feeds between systems
Collaborate with MBA Institutional Research
Opportunity to develop into a full Admissions Board Member in evaluating applicants to the MBA program
Training and onboarding to take place over a few Evaluation cycles
Assess student qualifications through written application
Interview candidates for the MBA program
Help with team-wide events and activities such as Admitted Students Welcome, Interview Days, yield activities, conference attendance, internal team-building,outreach, etc.
Contribute to collaborative culture with willingness to both teach and learn from colleagues
Attend weekly Ops team meetings
Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Grade: 057
Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
BA/BS required along with 5 years minimum experience.
Must have technical experience with data analytics tools and techniques. Experience with hypothesis-driven analytics and independent project execution. MBA a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as good judgment
Familiarity and knowledge of applying analytic methods/tools to data sets to generate insights
Strong familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint required
Experience with Tableau, SQL, statistical packages, programming languages a plus
Excitement to learn new tools as they become needed
