We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in lending and credit underwriting; someone who wants to expand and/or grow a Risk Management skill set and take on new challenges. As a Risk Management Officer, you will gain a broad exposure to the Risk Management function at Farm Credit East with opportunities to challenge yourself and grow your career within this dynamic department. Farm Credit East's Risk Management division covers the areas of:
Internal Reviews (Credit and Appraisal Quality)
Internal Audits (e.g., Operational, Financial Services, Fraud and other Enterprise Audits)
Business Intelligence (Data Management, Data Governance, Modeling, and Business Reporting)
Cyber/Physical Security and Technology
Expect to take an active role leading and participating in reviews and audits; and, to take on various projects as determined by the Chief Risk Officer and others. Initially, this position will be geared toward review/audit (i.e., Risk Assurance), and other projects. You will establish a general understanding of Farm Credit East's internal systems, policies/procedures, loan and legal documentation, regulatory guidance and laws, etc. Reviews and related projects to be completed will vary in scope and depth, and will be tailored to multiple audiences (including the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, Senior Management and Staff). Reviews and projects will be completed in a professional, accurate and timely manner. This includes assuring consistency in credit, front office, financial services, and appraisal practices. The position will work with all Risk Management staff, and work independently as necessary. This position reports to the Vice President / Director of Reviews, but will have interaction with all Risk Management associates and team leaders. This position is designed to develop you for a future leadership position with Farm Credit East.
This position requires at a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of lending experience (combined with strong credit underwriting experience) is required. This position will require up to 30% overnight travel. Ongoing training, both internally and outside the organization, is necessary and expected.
