The IT Business Analyst II, under general supervision, performs complex and specialized business analysis support functions, such as troubleshooting, research, de-bugging, and problem solving.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience in business analysis.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Masterâ™s degree in applicable field.
Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations. Teaching experience.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of advanced process analysis, troubleshooting, problem solving, client relations, requirement assessment and analysis, project management methodology, context and interrelationships, and proficiency in Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL).
Stay current with new technologies, research, and best practices that impact instruction, teaching, learning, and the delivery of support services.
Stays abreast of and proactively supports current research, legislation, and policies related to accessibility, copyright, security, privacy and other issues that impact information technology in higher education.
Liaises with client department and IT staff. Serves as a point of contact for complex questions, requests and/or client department projects.
Analyzes and refines Technology Services processes as they relate to the client department including periodically reviewing and updating the service catalog.
Provide supervision and oversight for the customer support and communications efforts of Technology Services. Provide daily direction, supervision, training, and evaluative feedback to support staff, interns, and student workers who provide support via phone calls, the help ticket system, and walk-in assistance.
Assesses client needs through direct interaction, mapping current and future
business processes, and looking for opportunities to develop and improve the business through the effective use of technology. Creates detailed functional and technical system specifications. Designs data reporting and business intelligence systems to meet client needs.
Develops and delivers training for end-users and performs other duties as assigned.
