The Manager of Financial Operations is the point person having business and resource allocation oversight for Medical Center Operational division under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The position is responsible for the management, analysis, coordination of all financial, budgetary and business related matters for the division, which consists of 4,600 budgeted FTE, and an operating expense budget of $1.1 Billion. Provides analysis, advice and expertise to the COO in the business decisions affecting sections/departments, new programs and financial operations. Reviews capital and operating budgets and benchmarks for hiring, staffing, supplies and equipment procurement, and purchased services expenditures for the division. Manages budget, labor costs, productivity and human resources-related activities pertaining to assigned staff members. Development and oversight of all operating expense and revenue. Advises, consults, and facilitates operations review discussions with departmental managers on budgets and business plans.In collaboration with Financial Decision Support, develops and analyzes reports and business intelligence tools. Recommends financial and performance key performance indicators. Analyzes budget variances and assists management in developing performance improvement plans throughout the fiscal year. Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures for related financial management and operational processes. Collaborates with Finance and Internal Audit teams to strengthen internal controls to protect University resources. Coordinates special projects as assigned.REQUIRED- BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field - 5 years of financial operations management experience (variance/costing) in a health care setting- Experience working with Financial and Enterprise Resource Planning software - Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and analytical experience skills in business plan development and return on investment analysis- Experience in budgets, cost control, labor and expense variances and service line planningPREFERRED- MA/MS in Finance, Accounting, business management or related field highly desired- CPA license is highly desired- Leadership/management skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
