This position reports to the Business Systems Analyst, HRIS in the Department of Human Resources. This position functions as the primary resource and is a key owner of HR-related data reporting from the university's data sources. The selected candidate will be expected to develop complex PL/SQL queries and additionally transform those queries (using Microsoft's Business Intelligence Development Studio) into user-friendly reports for deployment to ECU's business intelligence center (ecuBIC). The selected candidate will need to be an expert in all data related the HR operation at ECU, including, but not limited to, data generated by Banner, Kronos, PeopleAdmin, Cornerstone, and other systems. This position will also actively manage and improve the existing inventory of HR-related reports, modifying, adjusting permissions of, and decommission reports as dictated by business needs. Lastly, this position will be the primary manager of the public-facing HR website, ensuring that a professional face is projected and that content is meaningful and up-to-date. Responsibilities include the following: analysis of reporting needs, creation, modification, and validation of reports, documentation development, business requirements documentation, training and support related to report writing and data management, ecuBIC security, development of new views and data sources in collaboration with ITCS, validation of HR tables, views, and data after upgrades and modifications, website modifications to include the modification of content, deployment of new content, and other website-management activities; other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.
