This role will assist in the delivery of accurate data and reporting needs for the Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Error (FWAE) business. This position requires coordination with business partners, operations teams, and technical resources to deliver quality results. This will require validation that business requirements are complete, consistent, concise and technically achievable. Gather and create business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. Foster trusted relationships with Senior Leadership to proactively identify constituent needs and develop business intelligence and add to the analytical solution portfolios. Perform complex data analysis to identify patterns, correlations among business data elements, trends and anomalies in order to generate insights into historical and future operational performance from multiple large-scale, non-linked legacy data warehouses. Foster trusted relationships with Senior Leadership to research questions proactively identify constituent needs and develop business intelligence and analytical solution portfolios. Structure, perform & document large-scale testing within a prescheduled limited-release process. Gain proficiency with large bases of structured legacy code. Ideally this person would have an advanced technical background and communication skills that allow clear, concise explanations of complicated structures and procedures to senior management. Primary Responsibilities:Communication – Explain complicated financial procedures, data problems and technical structure and solutions in a clear, concise, confident manner. Data Retrieval – Pull data from very large legacy systems (using SQL or SAS) and join them together to provide workable data sets for analysis and problem solving. Data analysis - Research questions raised by senior management regarding data and trends in data. Problem Solving – Research issues in data quality and propose solutions to increase the accuracy of reporting. Coordination – Work with operational team members to understand business processes and data needs. Design – Design solutions and improvements for a legacy, structured, SAS-based data extracts system and communicate that design in specifications to developers. Testing - Structure, perform & document large-scale testing within a prescheduled limited-release process. Documentation – Document detailed (and sometimes tedious) specifications for developers, management and clients. Scheduling and Prioritization – Plan and prioritize tasks, work within scheduled deadlines, and communicate risks, solutions and decisions when there is too much to do.
