The HITS Data Reporting and Analytics department is seeking a qualified candidate who is excited to execute on our data management strategy ensuring rapid delivery of projects including developing and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes, and delivery of analytical data sets.
The Business Systems Analyst will require multi-tasking across project activities and some production support efforts. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Act as Project Manager for various data service projects, manage team work using agile methodology
Complete project work related to testing, production support, end-user support, process analysis and consult within a project or effort in a timely manner.
Demonstrate analytical skills necessary to analyze business requirements and the ability to clearly and concisely document those requirements in the appropriate format.
Create source to target data mapping documents with transformation logic.
Assist Data Architect in Data Warehouse design and data modeling
Create clear and concise design documents for new applications or for modifications to existing applications
Study and develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned business processes and systems. Work closely with co-workers, teams, and subject matter experts to apply in-depth knowledge of the units' business and administrative processes to all tasks. Apply in-depth knowledge in all phases of design and development (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation).
Build on-going relationships with external customers using effective verbal, written and presentation skills to ensure all work requests and project timelines are communicated, understood and met. Consult with customers to analyze their needs and identify acceptable solutions. Collaborate with customers on the resolution of business process issues including those that cross organizational boundaries.
With demonstrated analytical skills, assist with customer and departmental planning by reviewing the status of current projects or tasks, understanding and quantifying existing work and proposing recommendations on work and priorities.
Provide application support including problem analysis and resolution, on-call support, tier 2 help desk support, and end-user support. Develop, modify, test, document and implement reports and queries. Develop test plans to support infrastructure, software upgrades and releases: create and maintain documentation and test data. Execute test plans to support infrastructure, software upgrades and releases. Understand batch job streams and their dependencies.
Support project management by completing tasks to facilitate the implementation of new or changed systems, writing status reports, updating issues logs, participating in timeline decisions, providing input on proposals, etc. Identify and resolve dependency and integration issues across product areas.
Show initiative in learning, understanding and using departmental system development life-cycle, project management, and consulting methodologies in order to successfully work on assigned project and/or quickly adjust to another project if necessary.
Support change management effort by reviewing documentation, providing content recommendations and updating appropriate individuals on the completion status of project deliverables in a timely manner.
Meet target business dates or work with management to refine and adjust dates as external barriers warrant. Track and maintain all assigned work requests and assignments utilizing tracking tools and following defined procedures.
Bachelor's degree in related field and/or combination of education and experience.
5 years of related experience in business systems analysis and project management
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in project management and analysis, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Epic Clarity
Basic understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.
Demonstrated experience with determining project objectives and requirements, anticipating and solving problems, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities.
Experience in reporting and dashboarding tools
Works with confidence, collaboration, and a continuous desire to expand and improve skills set.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all levels including executive leadership. Successful performance with presentations.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and independent problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software, understand technical information, and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and user-friendly language.
