AABB is seeking a Database Manager. This position is primarily responsible for enhancing, maintaining and troubleshooting AABB’s Association Management System (AMS) as well as other database systems, including NBE, West Nile and Zika. It includes the use of SQL to search, update and report on the database, manage specialized applications built for AABB, create reports using Crystal Reports and other tools, and fine tune the database for optimal operations according to ISO and AGILE best practices for database management.
Improved systems integration with central association management system; Manages specialized (custom) applications created for the organization.
Creation of ad-hoc reporting using stored procedure, crystal reports and other business intelligence software.
Creation and execution of data scripts such as imports in back-end databases.
Contribute to improving applications with regards to responsive technologies and newer coding frameworks/standards.
Collaborates with the Webmaster to insure trouble-free integration between the Society’s web pages and the membership database.
Develops, implements and monitors automated procedures in the AMS. This includes creating files for use by outside organizations and importing information from other organizations.
Bug fixes and coding enhancements to existing custom software.
Respond to staff IT support requests via a ticketing system.
Education - Bachelor’s degree is required; focus in IT, Computer Science or similar concentration, preferred.
Experience - Requires a minimum of 5 years of technical experience. Expert level knowledge of personify is required. Project management experience is required.
Must have experience within Association and/or Societies or other NFP organizations. Excellent knowledge of Association Management or Event Management Systems, such as Aptify, TMA Personify, Avectra netFORUM, GoMembers etc. is required.
Knowledge of supporting/related applications such as email marketing, Crystal Reports, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), cVent, etc. preferred.
Knowledge and experience with SQL required.
Ability to identify needs through investigative dialog, then design and development custom solutions.
Adept at using analytical process and creative thinking in troubleshooting and application design.
Strong knowledge of MS SQL database application development and Database Administration practices; SQL programming techniques, including stored procedures, triggers, cursors, and views, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred.
Excellent organization and troubleshooting skills, with attention to details required. Must be able to track and record time spent on various projects to facilitate billing.
The successful candidate for this position must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, and possess a strong work ethic.
Experience with organizing tasks in a web-based ticketing or similar prioritization software system is a plus.
Experience with source control and versioning is also a plus.
Ability to analyze and solve technical problems, even those never before encountered in the organization.

Dayshift hours primarily;
On call as necessary to ensure business continuity; and
Must be willing to travel, sometimes on short notice as needed. Travel and other work related assignments on weekends expected on an ad hoc basis.
