Assists with key planning processes, including budget, forecast, capital and long-term planning. Develops financial models and related analytical/reporting tools to ensure accuracy and provide insight. Identifies and presents trends and opportunities to support management decision making. Develops analytical assignments and standard planning & forecasting deliverables as well as defines the sources of data required for the planning and forecasting process. Develops and creates presentations, financial updates and complex financial models for the Senior Leadership Team.
Develop financial models and related analytical/reporting tools in support of the university's operations and strategic initiatives. Leverage software to develop analytic dashboards to monitor budget, expense, revenue, and capital expenditures. Drive in-depth strategic analysis projects, identifying and implementing both revenue and operating efficiency opportunities. Apply professional expertise to elevate financial data quality, veracity, and consistency within and across the university. Explore, test, design, and model data to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial projections. Rectify issues arising from testing of newly created planning, forecasting, budgeting, capital, or target setting models/templates. Provide technical support in the enhancement and standardization of complex financial models, financial updates, dashboards, and presentations for Senior Leadership. Develop key business metrics and analytics that will allow the leadership team to clearly understand outcomes achieved, and provide insightful recommendations to optimize resource allocation. Assist in analyzing monthly and quarterly results, including progressive refinement of insightful reporting and analysis. Work well as a team player with others in the office as well as those in other units. Work independently on assigned responsibilities and meet established deadlines. Ad hoc reporting, projects, analysis, run reports and queries as needed and/or requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Math, Finance, Data Science or related field plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in modeling and reporting financial performance or the equivalent experience. Excellent research skills. Computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, individual initiative, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people are required. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills to interact with Senior Management and across functional teams. Experience with Business Intelligence Financial Packages similar to Oracle, PeopleSoft-Finance, Hyperion Budgeting and Planning, SAS, and/or data warehouses.
Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Math, Finance, Data Science or related field. Expert level Excel, PowerPoint and strong knowledge of PeopleSoft, Hyperion, SAS, and/or Oracle data warehouse. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills to interact with Senior Management and across functional teams. Experience analyzing, modeling, and forecasting higher education financial data. Proven experience in using skills for analyzing, modeling and reporting financial performance with attention to detail and data integrity. Proficiency in PeopleSoft-Finance, Hyperion, SAS, or other data modeling tools. The ability to take charge of a project and complete it with minimal supervision.
