UIC College of Applied Health Sciences, Administration department is seeking an Assistant Director of Alumni Relations (Associate Director of Engagement & Participation).
The Associate Director of Engagement & Participation will manage and direct unit’s annual giving campaigns, stewardship programs, and alumni constituent boards. Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans for multi-channel marketing and solicitation strategies, donor stewardship, alumni communication, participation and giving. Manage a portfolio of leadership annual gift prospects and donors.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
In partnership with the campus Engagement and Participation office, plan, implement and manage annual giving, multi-channel giving and multi-channel marketing and solicitation strategies; including direct mail, phone, Internet and email correspondence for growing donor participation, overall dollars raised and donor retention.
Manage a portfolio of leadership annual gift prospects and donors in accordance with goals determined annually by the unit’s director of advancement.
Monitor annual giving progress monthly, report and analyze annual giving performance; coordinate with other units/offices regarding annual fund marketing and communication schedules.
Manage unit’s alumni/volunteer constituent board; advise and collaborate with unit-wide staff on engagement strategies for alumni and friends; manage/coordinate nominations of alumni for school, college and university awards and recognition.
Manage stewardship programs and donor recognition events; ensure that stewardship requirements in all gift agreements are met and that stewardship requirements of new gift agreements are implemented in a timely way and incorporated into the department’s workflow.
Track development activity and donor interaction by entering key interactions and strategies into the fundraising database.
Coordinate with major gift officers to provide prospects and follow-up with activities.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) in communications, business administration, marketing, public relations, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience performing alumni relations and fundraising functions.
Strong analytical, project management, organization, time management and customer service skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills. Proficiency with electronic communications, social media and website tools strongly preferred.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications. Strong database skills. Experience using alumni/donor database and business intelligence software highly desired.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with high-end donors, volunteers, faculty, staff, general public and diverse populations, while maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to attend and help with weekend and evening events.
