Expert in informatics to design and developing the reporting portfolio across our GP products and services. He/she will work closely with the Product Owner on the Business Information and Reporting team to plan and execute the delivery of the BI and reporting backlog, managing a small team of informatics analysts on a project basis. He/she will coordinate work with end users, data warehouse developers, DBAs, and the release manager to ensure total system quality assurance is met at all times. Working either from the Paddington, London office or Telecommuting/Working At Home, this position is based wherever most convenient for the applicant on a regular basis. However, meetings through various parts England are regular and often weekly. While we will try to place the post holder at a site within a reasonable commute from their homes, this is not always possible, and overnight stays do happen occasionally. Primary Responsibilities:Gather / Document / Support Report Requirements Complete functional requirement forms and/or documents to define project parameters, build report requirements, and/or identify potential solutions Identify appropriate data sources, report metrics, and tools for providing required information according to clients' requests Define and/or ensure that report parameters are established consistent with data governance requirements (e.g., share minimally necessary data)Create reporting solutions and libraries for GP product portfolioIdentify and/or create relevant databases (e.g., fields; libraries) needed to source appropriate data Demonstrate understanding of relevant software and databases (e.g., SQL, Datameer or similar analytics platform, Tableau or similar data visualisation tools) Design, develop, test, document and maintain database queries and reports related to - but not limited to - clinical systems data Review and/or identify appropriate report format to use (e.g., existing reports; new report) based on customers' needs Develop systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting to management Test and review completed reports and associated metrics used in order to ensure accuracy and quality (e.g., compare to previous reports) Ensure customers have appropriate access to reports (e.g., review security provisions; ensure proper documentation is obtained) Test and verify the accuracy of incoming or received data and/or coding prior to generating automated reports Develop tests and/or software modules needed to assess the accuracy of data and/or coding used for report generation Troubleshoot data integrity issues, analyses data for completeness to meet business needs, and proposes documented solution recommendations Document report database processes and procedures in order to ensure business continuity in the generation of reports Ensure that reports are distributed according to service level agreements (e.g., deadlines; performance guaranteesIdentify / Create / Implement Process and Report Improvements and Efficiencies Conduct internal process reviews and/or gather feedback from internal and/or external customers in order to identify opportunities to improve operational performance (e.g., report automation) Identify and/or provide opportunities for additional training and learning to support process and report improvements Review ad hoc reporting requests in order to determine whether a standard reporting solution can be created Review manual report packages to identify opportunities to automate reporting and/or eliminate redundancies Work with relevant business partners (e.g., client management) to review the effectiveness of proposed solutions Conduct pilots (e.g., user acceptance; parallel reporting) in order to validate the accuracy of new processes or procedures Share and promote best practices with applicable internal business partners to ensure optimal reporting tools and processes are utilized Propose and/or define long-term strategies for implementing process and/or reporting improvementsCommunicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersTransfer data into meaningful, professional and easy to understand formats for various audiences Combine various data sources into a comprehensive understanding of patient behaviors and feedback for service improvement opportunities Create on-line tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of staff in their role of servicing our patients Analyse and present results/recommendations to stakeholders, partners and leadership directly in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field required -OR- additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree Experience in a reporting and analytic role Experience in Healthcare or Clinical environment Experience managing an analytics team Experience of using Tableau or other similar data visualisation tools Proficient in SQL, analytics platforms such as Datameer or similar Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail Ability to work closely and flexibly with multi-disciplinary teams Ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task in high volume workload situationsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working in a primary care setting Experience with clinical systems Experience working with big data solutions Experience in product development, delivering cost reduction / transformation programmes, product development and working in an Agile product developmentCareers with Optum.
