Ohio University's Voinovich School is seeking a highly qualified individual with experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tasks including geospatial analyses, tool development, and data creation and management using Python and other scripting languages to provide innovative geospatial solutions for scientific and technical problems. Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Computer Science or related discipline AND at least three (3) years of work experience is required. This position will perform location-based analytics with innovative spatial intelligence, business intelligence, statistical and predictive analytics tools to create unique analytical solutions and profound insights that support both strategic and operational decision making and collaborate with IT engineers and project teams to understand use cases and produce designs and implementations that meet GIS application configuration, testing and acceptance to fulfill grant and contract requirements. The Voinovich School's GIS Team leverages the full suite of Esri ArcGIS applications as well as open source geospatial software to be used develop geospatial solutions and web mapping projects. Additionally, the Geospatial Software Engineer will assist with the pursuit of funding opportunities, including client meetings, project scoping, prototyping, plan development, and feasibility studies. Candidates will require the ability to work in a very dynamic and technically demanding work environment, have knowledge and proficiency with software, databases, and other tools relevant to the field and ability to travel & valid driver's license.

Master's degree in Geography, Planning, Computer Science or related discipline and more than 5 years of work experience.
GIS Professional (GISP) certificate, membership(s) in URISA and/or other professional organizations are preferred but not required.
Previous experience in and knowledge of energy and environmental research programs and energy and environmental policy is preferred but not required.
