Posting Summary: The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a Manager, Career Development Center, Data and Analytics.
This critical role will carry out data and reporting projects for the Darden Career Development Center and work jointly with a new unit, Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation. The Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation team carries out advanced analytics and provides strategic insights to Darden's senior leadership.
The Manager will develop solutions to meet the needs of the Career Development Center, address issues/challenges and streamline processes by leveraging existing information systems and adoption of new technology based solutions.
This role will serve as the technical liaison to a wide range of external and internal stakeholders (career center advisors, employer relations team members, employers, Darden Corporate Relations, Enterprise Systems, GradLeaders, 12Twenty) and provide escalated technical support for students of all MBA formats. The Manager will also provide system training to new team members as well as ongoing training to current team members.
Responsibilities Include: Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze user requirements and document them in the form of BRD's (business requirements document) and FDD's (Functional Design Document) Contribute towards the enterprise data warehouse and analytics solution development Create interactive dashboards, visualizations and enterprise reports leveraging tools like Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI Build required data extracts required for solutions Provide timely, accurate and reliable management reporting and analysis of data Integrate data from multiple data sets, analyze and interpret complex data sets and make findings relevant and actionable for both internal and external stakeholders Verify data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting Work with data modelers to ensure that the data model meets business requirements Provide detailed business and data requirements including complex data mappings Create process flows, presentations and reports to document recommendations and deliver them to the business stakeholders Develop test plans, test cases, procedures, and documents given business requirements and design documents
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: At least three years of experience in building reports, dashboards and visualizations At least three years of experience in Business Intelligence or Information Management, ideally within consulting environment
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: Business Intelligence Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft BI and/or Spotfire Relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices
Expert solution delivery using Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft BI and/or Spotfire Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration Strong written and oral communications along with presentation and interpersonal skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of SQL, including ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic functions, and tuning Experience with Agile delivery methodology Familiarity with Career management systems (12Twenty, GradLeaders, or other) Familiarity with the career management center operations, with on campus/on grounds recruiting practices, or with general recruiting/hiring practices
Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Office suite Strong skills in working with spreadsheets, presentation software, powerpoint, Business Intelligence Reporting and Visual Analytic tools
