Functions/Duties of Position
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining BI solutions for our Epic Community Connect Partners, specifically Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC), that leverage data in Epic Hyperspace, Caboodle Data Warehouse, and Clarity. This position is responsible for implementing reporting solutions such as SAP Business Objects, Epic Reporting Workbench, Radar, and Telescope as part of OHSU's ongoing IT delivery model for MCMC, allowing them to appropriately generate timely, accurate, and comprehensive information for managing their business. This position is responsible for assuring effective coordination and analytical support between MCMC reporting analysts and OHSU IT.
This position is also responsible for detailed technical analysis to assure the availability and accuracy of data contained in the BIMD supported OHSU data warehouses and systems. This will include availability for rotation through an after-hours on-call support model as needed for upgrades, project go lives or to provide ongoing support of new systems that may have 24x7 support agreements. This will require a broad knowledge of OHSU BI systems and workflows.
Master's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Associate's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate's and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Minimum three years of business analyst experience.
Experience leading requirements gathering sessions and documenting associated business requirements for large-scale IT projects.
Experience planning and managing small projects.
Minimum three years working in relational databases.
Two or more years report developer experience with Business Objects or IBM Cognos products.
Ability to read, write and maintain SQL code, preferably with Oracle or SQL Server.
Ability to read and explain a data model.
Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of data warehousing architecture.
Excellent presentation/facilitation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis with excellent attention to detail.
Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle Certification and Reporting Workbench proficiency within 6 months of hire.
