Full Time 40 hours Grade 055 University IT / EA Schedule 8 AM-5 PM Responsibilities THIS POSITION HAS AN END DATE 2 YEAR FROM THE DATE OF HIRE. Position Summary: This lead level position reports to the Assistant Director Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing and works closely with Assistant Directors, Managers, Project Managers, and Team Members within University IT. With guidance from the Assistant Director Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing, the Business Intelligence Project Manager will be accountable for delivering Business Intelligence projects for the institution. Critical to this role is the ability to work in partnership across the institution in the visioning, delivery, and support of University projects. In collaboration with University colleagues, this position provides leadership to plan, develop, implement, and support enterprise-wide projects to meet the evolving needs of a world-class research University with an academic Medical Center. Responsibilities: Manages one or more large-scale business intelligence and business applications IT projects from beginning to end. The projects may include development, deployment, and infrastructure with complexity around technology, cross-functional dependencies and multiple stakeholders across various divisions and departments. Defines project scope, charter, goals and deliverables in support of institutional goals and works with senior leadership and stakeholders for approvals Ensures that projects are completed on time and meet all business and system requirements. Conducts all project management tasks to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals Ensures project scope is well documented and managed properly throughout the delivery cycle of the project. Develops project plans, schedule and work breakdown structure for projects Communicates project status, progress on deliverables, and risks/issues to stakeholders and leadership in a timely manner Discuss and prioritize project issues with the project team, and provide help/support to the project team as required. Works with resource managers to ensure project staffing and resource plan Collaborates with cross-functional teams including architects, software engineers, developers and technical leads to ensure timely delivery of project Facilitate reporting and analytics requirements gathering and documentation through both interviews and workshops Identifies and resolves issues/conflicts within the project team Maintains project tracking and provides status reports to senior leadership. Ensures adherence to system delivery process guidelines and provides early feedback to project teams to take proactive measures to resolve the issues. Adheres to change management processes during the project lifecycle. Ensures compliance with project deliverables, and project financial accounting.; Establish a strong working relationship with the client(s).Ability to break down barriers to communication and demonstrate added value with IT involvement. Lead the implementation of consistent business intelligence project delivery processes and management tools Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelorâ™s degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering, and 4-5 years of related experience, preferably 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Masterâ™s degree preferred. Preferred Skills/Education 5-7 years professional project management experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior business and technical IT management is required Multiple project experience with business intelligence solutions delivery is required Multiple project experience translating business needs into solution requirements is required Higher Education experience is desirable. Experience with BI technologies such as Cognos, Tableau is desirable. Experience with data warehouse technologies and methods is desirable Familiarity with IT policies, standardized work and SDLC is desirable. Familiarity with scrum development is desirable. PMP certification preferred
