This role will lead a team of data engineers that support the underlying data engineering needed as part of a broader project to develop industry leading data visualizations and operational analytics to support UnitedHealth Group's Payment Integrity organization. This role will work closely with the Business Intelligence team to set the strategy for, and drive the execution of, solutions that enable Payment Integrity operation teams optimize business performance. Primary Responsibilities:Lead a team of 5 - 6 senior and junior data engineers Work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence team to drive the execution of data engineering tasks required to support the data presentation layer for the Payment Integrity BI solution Analyze raw data sources and data transformation requirements Design, build, and deploy processes to load data (sets and sources) into Hadoop Write code, and leverage tools, to transform data to incorporate business logic as defined in conjunction with the Business Intelligence team Create AtScale cubes / mySql caching layer for downstream data consumption and data visualization Develop and maintain documentation that chronicles processes
Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification Strong experience with SQL databases, creation SSIS jobs and stored procedures Strong experience with Relational Databases (RDBMS) and Non- Relational Database Strong experience in implementation of ETL applications, Data warehousing principles, architecture and its implementation in large environments Strong experience in the design and implementation of OLAP cubes Experience with Hadoop database tools (HBase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Hbase and/or Map/Reduce) Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Unix) Experience in Automated testing strategy planning Experience with data blending tools (e.g. Alteryx, Trifacta) Experience with agile/scrum methodologiesPreferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of MDX Experience with AtScale OLAP technology on Hadoop Experience with Apache Kafka Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices Agile development methodology Knowledge of Apache SparkCareers with Optum.
