HUIT Data Management Services is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Product Owner to refine the vision and strategy of our data exchange platform and execute this plan across multiple development and operational teams. The data exchange platform includes products from Mulesoft Inc. and Pivotal Software Inc. and forms the core of HUIT's next generation data sharing infrastructure.
We are looking for an energetic individual who can help create an "API First" culture at Harvard while shaping the vision and strategy for the platform. Your job will be to establish process and infrastructure to make our API services secure and reliable while helping to educate the community about the product. Your success will be measured by how you're able to drive this strategy forward in terms of product features, API solutions delivered, and your ability to engage and influence key partners in a distributed development team.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, and is comfortable working with multiple disciplines across departments to deliver exceptional outcomes. You'll bring flexibility and innovation, but also establish order and structure. You'll be a manager, mentor, influencer and product advocate rolled into one, leveraging a passion for your work to deliver exceptional stakeholder outcomes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:
Lead the ideation, strategy, technical development and delivery of MuleSoft product features and API solutions
Establish MuleSoft platform services and offerings, and develop communication plans to broaden awareness and drive adoption
Through engagement with business and technical stakeholders, create and manage a product backlog and prioritization process
Drive product design and develop business solutions with a distributed team of business analysts, developers, data modelers, data analysts and DevOps engineers
Build and deliver the business cases for product investments, as needed
Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of the platform
As the product subject matter expert, identify the root cause of problems and provide solutions, even when requirements are vague or challenging
Function as vendor lead and technical point-of-contact with data documentation product vendors (such as MuleSoft)

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following basic qualifications:
7+ years product management experience or equivalent experience working with data management/API technologies
Understanding of the technology architecture principles for complex and highly scalable enterprise applications, especially data management technologies (business intelligence, data modeling, data integration, data warehouse, etc.)
BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
The following qualifications are strongly preferred:
Experience with Mule and RabbitMQ, or similar products
Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with broad and cross-functional stakeholder groups in a highly complex organization
Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex data architectures
Development experience is a major plus
Experience developing customer support processes and platforms is strongly desired
