Acts as internal consultant to senior management, directors and managers providing data analysis and interpretation supporting fact-based decisions improving revenue, controlling costs, and improving patient care. Provides complex statistical analysis of clinical, business and operational systems for senior, medical, and operational staff.
These functions include, but are not limited to development of standard reports, program evaluations and other analytical/problem solving services to the business and clinical units, feasibility studies of proposed projects with return on investment analysis, research reports, and application administration. Provides support for strategic planning for both clinical and medical staff service units. Leads the organization in the development of clinical information systems i.e. data warehouse and "data cubes".
Manages databases including contract negotiation, choice of upgrades, developing reports for Labor Relations and regulatory agencies. Performs project management for medium to large scale, complex clinical data and information projects. Data systems not limited to GRASP (the electronic acuity tool), ANSOS (the electronic staffing tool), EPIC and patient flow data bases/systems.
Graduation from college with a major in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six (6) years of healthcare analysis or operations experience.
Prior experience as a business analyst with knowledge of healthcare operations, financing, and trends. Skills in data analysis and data mining.
Knowledgeable of MS Office.
Excellent verbal, written communication skills, presentation and report writing.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently, setting priorities to meet deadlines.
Judgement and discretion necessary.
Understanding and adherence to the principles of the Power of Excellence standards.
A Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Expert in Microsoft Office, ANSOS, GRASP, data analysis and data mining.
Ability to maximize revenue/throughput and or cost reductions.
Experience in working with clinical staff members in the re-engineering of patient flow and operational protocols.
Experience in software implementation and subsequent re-engineering manual/operational processes to maximize software benefits.
Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
