The Data and Systems Analyst is a non-exempt, full-time staff position which assists management within Career and Professional Development. This position is located at the Career Center Offices on Glassell.
The Career and Professional Development Data and Systems Analyst works closely with Institutional Research, the University Advancement data team and IS&T to manage all aspects of data collection and analysis relative to student andgraduate career-related outcomes. The Data and Systems Analyst develops data collection strategies that ensure high response rates; is responsible for merging employer data collected via ChapmanConnect/Handshake with the Agilon ONE University Advancement database; conducts predictive modeling to identify constituents for engagement as industry/ corporate partners, student and alumni community influencers, as well as notable alumni in key industries; oversees the full life cycle in creation and maintenance of Agilon's career relations module.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the Data and Systems Analyst position.
Specific Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years' experience in independently assisting functional users with data analysis and reporting needs. Working knowledge of data relationships, prior experience with relational database and/or reporting systems and/or reporting system. Experience with administering surveys and familiarity with survey research. Advanced technical skills using Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in creating graphs, formulas and pivot tables. Ability to determine appropriate research plan design/methodology on research projects. Ability to train and coach staff and communicate concepts. Knowledge or experience managing and extracting data from enterprise reporting or business intelligence tools, i.e. Agilon One, PeopleSoft.
General Job Requirements: Strong analytical skills with proven ability to analyze and prioritize requests; comply with data standards and policies, and form valid conclusions.Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Strong technical skills to learn and use enterprise and departmental systems and applications required for the position. Excellent communication skills. Interpersonal skills to prioritize multiple requests when faced with interruptions, distractions and fluctuating workloads, and complete them in a timely manner. Must be a problem solver who takes the initiative and asks appropriate questions. Work independently, as well as in a team high attention to detail.
