The Data Scientist will work in the Office of Provost to improve existing data management systems, provide business intelligence support, and conduct predictive analytics. Duties include developing and implementing programs to process and manipulate large data sets; writing queries for extracting data; preparing static reports with both tabular and graphical presentations as well as web-based active reports; and developing predictive analytics models. The candidate will be responsible for the needs assessment, analysis, design, testing, documentation, and evidence of efficacy.
Candidate must have experience working within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. The incumbent must be proficient in query writing (e.g., SQL, Cognos), relational databases (e.g., Access), and visualization software (e.g., Tableau). In addition, the candidate must have experience designing, conducting, and interpreting statistical analyses using common statistical software tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS, Python) and techniques (e.g. regression modeling, machine learning, data mining, clustering).

Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Business Information Systems, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field. Five years of experience in data analysis, database management, business intelligence, or information technology, or some combination of related experience and graduate education required.
