The primary function of the role is to lead the business intelligence unit and contribute to the design and build of the data architecture for the bank. This will in time lead to the structuring, gathering, analysing and presenting of data to help develop a picture of where the bank can improve its performance.
The role requires expertise across enterprise performance, BI best practice, and deep knowledge of data structures and channels in which data can be applied to generate business intelligence. The head of business intelligence unit will be responsible for the following:
Lead the long, medium and short term planning and strategy for the BI Department, as well as identifying opportunities for change and continuous improvement
Drive the design of future enterprise data architecture
Lead the BI Team to uncover hidden information and data to be used to influence leaders across the bank, and design initiatives built on this data
Lead the development, monitoring and reporting of these KPIs as well as market/industry intelligence
Manage and inspire the BI team with relevant talent and operational management duties

Qualifications & Experience
Given the nature of the role, it's essential that the candidate has past experience in helping drive the move away from traditional DWH and BI to new methods, technologies and next generation data architecture to aid decision making across the bank
Relevant banking experience is mandatory given the seniority and importance of the role
The candidate must have past experience in established big data analytics capabilities and frameworks.
Strong communication and leadership skills are paramount.
