The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the two (2) classified positions above.
Job Summary: There are two Instructional Services Coordinator openings, both of whom provide research, evaluation and administrative support for various college programs and initiatives. Under the direction of the College Researcher, independently perform complex analyses, including extracting, compiling and analyzing data. Disseminate analysis and findings in writing and through oral presentations. Design and support assessment efforts related to curricular and/or programmatic efforts, ranging from developing surveys to conducting focus groups. Navigate a student information system to identify data needed for institutional research efforts related to either the college's student equity initiatives or the Student Success and Support Program (3SP). Measure the student equity plan and 3SP (credit and non-credit) plan outcomes (will become one integrated plan in 2017-18). Develop program evaluation studies through collaboration with administrators, faculty and classified staff. Report required data elements for state reports. Both positions are supported by categorical grant funds.
The Instructional Services Coordinator-Equity will also evaluate efforts identified and established to support the college's equity agenda (e.g. student equity plan), including the assessment of learning community program level outcomes. Support the college Student Equity Workgroup, which may involve taking minutes and posting information to the website.
The Instructional Services Coordinator-3SP will also provide data analysis assistance in the areas of assessment and testing, including placement validation and multiple measures assessment, as well as in counseling and other matriculation functions as identified by the 3SP. Support the 3SP Advisory Council, including identifying measures and targets to document progress toward 3SP Plan goals.
DEFINITION: Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide primary administrative support on instruction and institutional research. Implement and oversee complex processes; develop and analyze data and perform research and special projects for assigned areas; assist managers, staff and faculty with various reports, data and analysis related to assigned activities. Independently perform complex analysis and reporting with considerable accountability to state agencies for research and projects related to program review, accreditation, and student learning outcomes and the college planning committees.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serve as a lead and resource in the coordination, web support, planning and writing of reports related to campus-wide programs and services (i.e. accreditation).
Oversee and coordinate the management of data, data input, information, and materials in academic services area ensuring accuracy; prepare, update, maintain and manage materials and information required to support activities.
Participate in development and implementation of new systems designed to support functions.
Develop and explain processes and procedures to students, faculty, staff and administration and serve as resource for resolution of questions.
Support faculty and staff services including professional development funds oversight and tenure review process.
Maintain effective communication and interact with college personnel to provide problem resolution and information on college policies related to academic procedures, participatory governance activities, and other instructional issues.
Direct the use and maintenance of the Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) system to support academic services functions; provide technical assistance, guidance and support to divisions; train faculty and/or division staff, division deans, and others.
Assist with institutional processes including interpreting data, creating forms and graphs, writing instructions, participating on related committees and maintaining documents.
Perform complex research assignments, providing reports as appropriate; utilize spreadsheets and specialized software to provide graphs, charts, and tables, as needed; provide analysis and interpret results. Independently perform complex analysis and reporting with considerable accountability.
Advise, consult, communicate and assist committees with weekly agendas, minutes and materials packets.
Support institutional research and analytic activities including coordinating surveys, data entry, and summary reports; extract data.
Respond to mail and telephone calls; independently compose correspondence; file, schedule meetings, order supplies; and prepare invoices.
Monitor, track, and report on different budgets.
Utilize a variety of database software to compile data extracted from various information systems for analysis and reporting.
Develop, design, and administer surveys. Perform statistical analysis of surveys for various offices.
Perform research to evaluate the outcomes of programs and services.
Analyze, monitor and schedule projects according to established timelines and follow-up accordingly.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field AND two (2) years' experience in a related environment including experience in program development and implementation.
Two (2) to five (5) years of progressively independent program coordination experience, specifically experience in writing, editing, evaluation, data analysis and program planning.
Documented experience reporting out to stakeholders, including production of a final product, such as a written or oral report.
Knowledge and experience using software applications for data management and report preparation, including spreadsheets, statistical and database applications, business intelligence/reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, etc.) and presentation software.
Prior experience working on program evaluation efforts, in fields such as education, community outreach, government relations, non-profits, etc.
Experience working with complex schedules and timelines with limited supervision.
